Services

The center provides a full range of services, from assessment to intervention

We provide each service with an emphasis on personalization, scientific accuracy, and individual attention.

01Evaluation

Neuropsychological evaluation

Neuropsychological evaluation is performed using specialized tests and standardized scales with Greek reference data, which cover a wide range of cognitive functions, such as memory, attention, executive functions and language. Assessment protocols are selected according to international assessment criteria for each clinical disorder.

More

The assessment is aimed at both adults and children and adolescents.

Adults

  • Neuropsychological assessment to detect memory disorders, Mild Cognitive Impairment, or other cognitive difficulties that may be associated with neurological or other pathology.
  • Neuropsychological evaluation of individuals with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, or other neurodegenerative and demyelinating diseases, with the aim of assessing the severity of the disease and monitoring its progression.
  • Neuropsychological assessment of the effects of acquired brain damage, such as traumatic brain injury, stroke or other neurological conditions.
  • Neuropsychological assessment of testamentary capacity, for purposes such as making or changing a will or other legal uses.
  • Neuropsychological evaluation of cognitive, psychomotor and other functions related to safe driving and driving ability.

Children and adolescents

  • Neuropsychological evaluation of children and adolescents for the detection of possible neurodevelopmental or acquired disorders and the assessment of their effects on memory, thinking, emotional functioning and behavior.
  • Neuropsychological evaluation of preschool children for the early detection of significant developmental delay and the assessment of their developmental potential.
02Assessment

Assessment of learning difficulties

The assessment of learning disabilities and other neurodevelopmental disorders is carried out using standardized psychometric tools, such as the WISC-V, as well as other specialized tests for children and adolescents, selected according to the nature of the difficulties.

More

The objective of the evaluation is:

  • The diagnosis of specific learning difficulties.
  • The diagnosis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • The diagnosis of communication disorders.
  • The detection and assessment of coexisting emotional difficulties, such as mood and anxiety disorders.

The comprehensive assessment contributes to the accurate understanding of the cognitive and emotional profile of the child or adolescent and to the formulation of appropriate intervention and support proposals.

03Intervention

Sound therapy · Tomatis Method

Sound therapy aims to train or retrain the auditory system, in order to improve the individual's ability to listen, process and decode auditory stimuli in a way that facilitates the effective activation and organization of brain functions.

What it is

More

The sound therapy approach applied at the Center is based on the principles formulated by Professor Alfred Tomatis, both in terms of the therapeutic process and the technical equipment.

Procedure — Duration

Before the start of sound therapy, a comprehensive assessment lasting approximately 2 hours is carried out, during which the Listening Test (PIIT) is also administered. The Listening Test carried out individually in a soundproof room and includes all the assessment parameters of listening established by Tomatis. The results are presented in a separate session lasting approximately 50 minutes, during which the findings are discussed and an individualized sound therapy program is developed.

Sound therapy is carried out either at the Center or at home. Depending on the needs of each individual, short, medium or long-term programs are implemented. A typical program includes 4 sound therapy cycles. The first cycle consists of 15 two-hour sessions, with a minimum frequency of 3 two-hour sessions per week. The next 3 cycles include 8 two-hour sessions each, with intermediate breaks that allow the results to consolidate.

Progress evaluation

The Listening Test is re-administered in each new cycle, within the framework of a counseling session, in order to evaluate the changes that have occurred and to program the Electronic Ear for the next cycle. After the completion of the program, re-evaluations are carried out at six and twelve months, accompanied by the corresponding counseling sessions.
